Is it OK to go and get a chest ex ray before you apply for settlement visa ,and before marry , or is there a sequence you have to follow , Could My partner go and get her chest ex ray while i am in the UK ,So it will save time when i arrive in Thailand,

The X Ray is Valid for 6 months. You submit it with your Visa Aplication

Best to get it just before you Submit Visa Aplication

It Can be done in the Morning you need to book Appointment at IOM

If your X Ray is OK you will get A Certificate Then Submit it with all the other Documents same dayis Possible

You need to submit the TB certificate with the visa application documents so the X ray must be done first.

The certificate will be valid for six months and she can get it done before you are married, but it must be in

the same name as in your partners passport (your partner will have to take their passport with her when she

goes for the TB test). If she has the TB test before you're married her visa application must also be in the

same name, even if thats submitted after you're married. Having everything in your partners maiden name

won't cause any problems with the visa application.

We had the TB test done the week before we married..... and the day after we married the wife changed her passport to her married name. We were told there shouldn't be a problem about having different names on her TB cerificate and paspport/visa application.

My wife and I were already married when she went for her TB test and her passport was in her married name but by mistake I picked up her old passport (which was in her maiden name). The IOM test centre wouldn't let her go for the Xray because they said they had to put her name as on the passport and the passport number on the TB certificate, and they would both be different to her current passport. We had to make a new appointment and go back two days later to have the Xray.

Thanks i thought you could get it before. I am Arriving in Thailand June 14, I am trying to get married and submit a settlement visa , Before i return after 5 weeks in Thailand, I have my hotel booked near British Embassy for 5 nights , I also have Ex ray booked for 16 June.. My Thai partner has been to the UK before (last year on a holiday visa for 6 months), So i hope there will be no problems as i have just up dated my File, I know there is a wait for Settlement Visas, as i found out a few days ago. I will submit my application on line a week before i arrive in Thailand , if, and probly it will not get processed before i return, and it gets the OK my partner will phone me when visa is granted, hopefully , then i will book a flight to the UK , can you see any problems with my plans, maybe i am just panicing going over things in my head.

Just be aware that IF there's any abnormality that shows up on the Xray your partner will have to attend the IOM centre early in the morning for three consecutive days to provide a sputum sample for them to test. So if this happens it will delay your plans by up to a week.

Tkorn.

I do belive the procedure now is to Fill in the Settlement Form out On Line

Then Make an Apontment At VFS to Submit Your Documents

Maybe you make the Apointment at the same time as you fill in the form online

I don't Know this as on line apps only just Started

Others will Know on Here. Dont Panic

I dont think it is a good Idea to change your wifes name if you do you will have to change

her Passport

My wife still has her old name She can still call herself Mrs Tkorn and use it in the UK

You only need to show your marraige Cert To The bank if applying for bank account Ect

It is only if it is related to her Visa application she will need to use her maiden Name and Air Tickets to match her passport.

hey i just did this like a month or so ago, but for fiance visa...

you can do the visa application online a VFS site and schedule an appointment for the missus to go drop it off and have biometric taken. the appointments were available from like 3-14 days away when i submitted my gfs online... next we called up IOM and got an appointment a few days later. It took like 3 hours i think. have to go to the office to fill out the paperwork, then they direct you to a particular hospital, you get the xray done,, go back to iom office and if no probs you get the certificate. was 2600 baht. worth it just to see the cool hospital they sent us to. you put the certificate in with the visa documents. i think you need it when she actually arrives in england too...

good luck
