KarenBravo
Just had a chat with the lady in Bastogne Bakery. They will be closing for a month whilst the premises are renovated. Last day open will be tomorrow, Saturday. I'm going to miss their baguettes. They are also opening another shop at the Twin Palms Resort in Surin. Somtamnication
Their prices are ridiculous and service is not very good. But good bread.

baabaabobo
I was in France recently and the bread/pastries were not as good as La Bastogne yet more expensive. Always found the staff pleasant and the prices are what they are.
Wellington
I was in France recently and the bread/pastries were not as good as La Bastogne yet more expensive.Always found the staff pleasant and the prices are what they are. The bread is arguably the best on Phuket, But pricing is outragious. We would buy there every day if they were more competitive. Hear this Jose! thaigerd
Are they open again? No, they are not open yet. The new owner will be the TWINPALM resort but the former owner and his wife will stay there for a while as consultants. Looking forward for their opening again, I guess with a lot of changes. KarenBravo
Gerd, They are planning to open the Chalong bakery again, aren't they? The lady did say there would be two shops. Didn't realise that they had sold it to Twin Palms.

Valentine
It could be a while before it is reopened as although the frontage is finished the whole inside has been gutted. They must have sold out to Twin Palms & I believe the husband has been wanting to return home. I miss the ham & egg sandwich.

XStatic
I have to say, their lamb sandwich which appeared occasionally as a special, was amazing. Will miss them! I'm sure the new one will be good though too, look forward to its opening, drive past everyday, so keeping a good eye out! :-) Edited November 16, 2009 by XStatic
stevenl
If they are leaving I'm afraid for the long term quality.
Valentine
Bastogne bakery aka Bake looks like it will be ready for opening soon as the renovations are almost done. The straw roof does not do anything for me although it may be intended to give the place a rustic look which IMO does not work. Anyone hear when it will reopen?
