Advice On Buying Raw Silk During A Short Trip

My work pants are made of black raw silk and are my favorites, but are on their last legs (scuse the pun). My wife is going to Chiang Mai with friends for the weekend, so I was hoping she could pick up some raw silk and I could have a couple more pairs made down here in Pattaya on her return.

I don't want to get the perfect deal given the time constraints, but I understand you can get very good prices in Chiang Mai. Is there somewhere she could go, being a novice on quality and price, where she could get a good deal?

I would appreciate any advice, thanks in advance.
