Briggsy
Yesterday in a southern curry foodshop, I was unable to identify one of the salad vegetables which come with the food. I asked the guy in the shop and it sounded like he said something like ผักชีหลบ Pak Chee Lop I know ผักชี Pak Chee = Coriander ผักชีล้อม Pak Chee Lorm = Fennel ผักชีลาว Pak Chee Lao = Dill ผักชีฝรั่ง Pak Chee Farang = Fitweed It had spiked leaves very superficially looking like the leaves of a cannabis plant. The leaves were slightly smaller than those of the Bai Horapha (Sweet Basil) Any ideas or did I mishear?
mssabai
Is that the one that tastes like celery? Very peppery flavour? Looks like small pak chee? It is in season at the moment and they always have it in our local khanom jeen shop. I will ask my bf what it is called. It is delicious.. almost a bit like curly parsley too... Briggsy
Actually the flavour was not that peppery and the leaves are bigger than Phak Chee ผักชี as you would find put on top of your Khao Man Kai ข้าวมันไก่ So maybe that's another one! I think the name should give it away. Somebody will know it.
