Hi guys

going to take the slow train to Lampang with elderly parents . . .

what's there to do there for a few hours with no car and a small baby? (Have already done the horse and buggy there)

I did the same a few months ago. I enjoyed the train journey immensely. I walked from the station in to the city but not much to do and I think the pavements aren't suitable for older people. You could ride a horse cart around the city but I think you'll still need to get to the centre of the city to find them. Be aware the advertised times of return trains seem to be a few hours out.

There's not an awful lot. If you've done the horses, you've already had the main tourist experience. Baan Sao Nak is nice - it's a big(ish) old teak house which is open to visitors and there's the usual set of temples to visit if you like that - Wat Prathat Lampang Luang is beautiful but it's a long way out of town so if you haven't got a car it's not going to be that easy.

Indra Ceramic showroom is a well known attraction and close to town. Depending on the time of day, a meal at the Riverside Restaurant could be an option.
