just_Elaine
The festive menu at Mi Casa is delicious and a good value too! I think they have the menu for the rest of the month...
just_Elaine
Sorry, I got interrupted before I finished this post. I wanted to mention that they had someone dressed as Santa who did some magic tricks, they passed out some balloons and the dessert we ordered had cute 2" sugar Santa on top! Merry Christmas! One of my favourite restaurants in CM, even had the old wedding bash there. You could try Su Casa, their sister restaurant down off Neimenheimen, they specialise in Tapas there. Oneman
You could try Su Casa, their sister restaurant down off Neimenheimen, they specialise in Tapas there. The thread topic here is Mi Casa restaurant, but Su Casa is owned and operated by the same couple, so I will proceed: I've eaten at Su Casa four times since it opened, each time hoping I will enjoy the experience. The tapas at Su Casa are okay, and the home-made bread is superb. For the food alone, I would go back, but ... The clanging, crashing, atonal noise ["music"] played loudly on their sound system is enough to take away any appetite. The colored garbage attached to the walls ["modern art"] is almost enough to make a sane man vomit. If that's not enough, the place is often populated with metro-sexuals, same-sexuals, and the mis-guided farang females who dote on them. Doesn't enhance my dining experience. Proceed to Su Casa at your own risk. Unless, of course, you like that sort of place, then you might enjoy the food. -- Oneman Chiangmai . Jingthing
If that's not enough, the place is often populated with metrosexuals, other-sexuals, and the mis-guided farang women who dote on them. What is an other-sexual? Perhaps you meant otter-sexual? It occurred to me the funny thing is the way you refer to "mis-guided farang women who dote on them" is actually much more polite than the descriptor widely used by us Uranians. Vetty sexy otter, yeah Edited December 25, 2009 by Jingthing
mickmac
Oneman If you read my post I do make comment re: Mi Casa, I then informed the OP of their sister restaurant Su Casa. I have no problem with other people and their sexual preference, nor their hangers on. So I guess I won't be bumping into you there. You could always ask them to turn the music down, or to change it, Annie,(one of the owners), has always tried to be attentive to her guests. just_Elaine
Thanks for the info on Su Casa. It may be more convenient than the Mi Casa location although I like the ambiance of the Mi Casa restaurant. I may have to go there again for my birthday! I lived in Spain for a while and I love tapas. (I don't expect anything like in Spain but...) I don't understand what Oneman is talking about either but I am guessing he is talking about the khatoeys? I've never noticed farang females doting on khatoeys before. What would be the point of it? But a few khatoeys hanging out in a restaurant would certainly not ruin my dining experience at all. After all, TIT. They are everywhere.
Jingthing
No, he means gay men. His original text was changed from other-sexuals to same-sexuals. It is common for gay men and straight women to form friendships. Edited December 26, 2009 by Jingthing

Oneman has placed something like 400-500 Thai Visa posters on "ignore" for sins such as using profanity, posting smilies without any words and having avatars that rub him wrong. Homophobia might be the least of his problems.
