Carib
It was said by one of the red leaders that 20.000 monks would participate in the protests, I have seen a lot of pictures of all red, but not a single monk. Have you?? Thanks Mod`s for putting it in general. Edited March 15, 2010 by Carib
Carib
No responses, so is it safe to assume that monks didn't participate???
Ricardo
Perhaps they are there, but wearing red-shirts & wigs ? Or maybe the dastardly blue-shirts, or some invisible higher-force of alien lizards, had them machine-gunned or bombed en-route ? Can't wait to see Truth Today, to find out which it was. Boksida
A newspaper website has photos of monks at the Democracy Monument protests.
anotherpeter
A newspaper website has photos of monks at the Democracy Monument protests. So, maybe 100 there (in those photos). Certainly not much more, and not 1000 or 20,000. Any idea what the signs that the monks are holding say?
Carib
Thanks Ricardo for the funny note And Boksida, thanks very much for the info link. I believe they are asking the authorities to refrain from using force on the protesters.
otherstuff1957
The first sign is asking that there be no violence. I cannot read all of the second one, but it seems to be critical of Prem and the other aristocrats.
DP25
There were a few, but like most of their predictions about their numbers it was all hot air

geriatrickid
The government put pressure on the religious leaders to block monks from participating or attending. It was no secret and it was previously mentioned in the forums. If an abbot says he will disrobe monks that disobey at a temple, then I think the monks will not disobey. Payboy
said by one of the red leaders that 20.000 monks would participate in the protests Maybe, he was referring to Shaolin monks, in which case we cant see them because they're ninjas. bacchanal
200 monks out of 20,000 "expected" 100,000 protestors out of 1,000,000 "expected" at least these are better ratios than the "expected" Thai Elite Card sales
