Govt hails success of PM’s complaint box

BANGKOK: -- When Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra placed a public complaints box outside his official residence, Ban Phitsanulok, here nearly a year ago, no-one could have dreamed how popular it would prove.

But since 1 June last year, the box has handled 15,844 complaints from members of the public, and has successfully addressed over 60 percent of them, the cabinet was told today.

According to the latest figures, the government and local officials have managed to resolve 61.88 of the complaints received in the box outside the prime minister’s residence and outside the residences of provincial governors.

The complaints are wide ranging, from debt problems to land and housing, and from complaints against public officials to information on criminal behaviours.

This is highly believable :

Received 15 844 complaints

addressed : 61.88

That's about 1 in 1000

hehe - double check the quote:

According to the latest figures, the government and local officials have managed to resolve 61.88 of the complaints received in the box

This reminds of Thaksin claiming "success" for the Songkran death toll because it was "only" 520 (or whatever the actual figure was) people splattered all over the highway.

Now there are saying that because over 15,000 people have problems serious enough they want the PM to address them, then that, too, is a "success." :o:D

The logic is practically unfathomable.... :D:D

I wonder how many of the 14,000 unaddressed complaints were concerning Mr. T and his government?
