Recommended Posts

Hi guy's,

ok i will keep this short,

I need work!!!

I live near chaiyaphum, i'm 50, fit, and willing to do almost anything, if it's not envolved in drugs or something that will put me in the monky house!!!!

I was a stock aduit manager for 16 yrs, made redundant. since i have worked as a sales administrator, cleaner, van delivery driver. then met my now wife, had to find money.

Found work as a digital radio fitter for the m.o.d, fitted in anything from jeeps to tanks, they sent me to germany to complete the last 2 months of there contract.

Stayed in thailand for 1 1/2 years. back to england, found work as an assembler, paint srayer and lorry loader for joy minning, making roof supports for coal minning up to 62 tons in wieght.Have been farming now for just over 1 year, but need to find an income!!!

Can anyone please help???

looking for an income of about 200,000 a year??

Do you have high speed-ish internet access at home?

And are you prepared to leave chayaphom?

Just a couple of things that might help in your cause, although 200 tho baht is not going to be worth your while working away from home really is it.

teaching, tele-sales work a few companys in bkk want decent a/openers!

If i hear of anything i will p-mail you.

Good luck mate

INDEED Naam. He must feel some special warmth in putting a guy down who at least is out there trying to have a go, not to mention an extremely experienced guy. I'd rather have someone around who is willing to have a crack at something rather than some fool who is too ignorant to even notice this.

Best of luck OP.

What makes you think someone has money with his name on it waiting in England?

Grow up! He already stated he's got something brewing in Thailand & is just waiting for that to take off............do you really feel the need to insult someone today? :)

i am grown up.

im not the one who is 50 and has no money to support a family. if his farm is a pile of cash just waiting to blossom im sure hed have no problem monetizing it. BUT FROM WHAT I KNOW THIS IS PROLLY NOT THE CASE WITH FAMILY FARMS, THEY JUST STRUGGLE TO MAKE ANYTHING.

he has had a lot of jobs, just not in thailand. im sure the socialist eupropean union has a lot for him to do.

Just what is wrong with some of you. He is at least giving it a go. Is it likely to be easy to get work at 50 in the UK? Why shouldn't he look for something here? What happens to you when your spinach runs out, do you lie down and die?

I can't be of much help to the OP but wish him the best.

i second that and wish the OP best of luck. what i admire is that he seems to be an honest man who is willing to work hard for a pittance to support his family. and if he was living in my vicinity i would have tried my best to get him a job. putting an honest man down -who is seeking advice- is despicable, especially when it is done with bla-bla-bla! just my personal view.

Just a suggestion, albeit not a great one, but better than many of the people who seem to have nothing better to do than have a go at others:

If you have a reasonable internet connection you could try completing online surveys. Not ideal for someone who needs quick money, as it takes time and is not well paid.

The rates often work out pretty poor - around $3 - $4 per hour (THB 100 - THB 130/hr). So you'd need around 120 - 160 hours a month to reach the level of income you're looking for - which is pretty much a full working week. They can also be frustrating, eg some bounce you out half way and give you nothing. Often they send a cheque which can take them say 4 weeks to issue.... etc. etc.

Obviously you can do as many as you can find (or want) and you may also struggle to find the amount you want. But sometimes every little helps, and may make part of what you need while looking for something else. Possibly the wife could also do as well, if she sets up an account - but you need to be careful they don't think it's the same person doing multiple entries on same survey. Anyway. Good luck!

ACTUALLY ALL THIS LOVEY DOVEY STUFF DOES OP NO GOOD. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL HIM HE HAS A FAMILY TO SUPPORT AND HE NEEDS TO FIND WORK FAST, EVEN IF IT MEANS LEAVING THE VILLAGE OR THE COUNTRY. TIME TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. TALKING IS ONE THING DOING IS ANOTHER.

IS IT PROBABLE THIS GUY HAS BEEN MAKING BAD DECISIONS ALL HIS LIFE. HONESTY AND HARD WORKING ISNT ENOUGH. LOOK WHERE IT HAS GOTTEN HIM.

OR WHY DONT YOU GOODY 2 SHOES JUST GIVE HIM MONEY, IT ISNT MUCH HE IS ASKING FOR.

Good idea ! Would anyone have any useful related links to stear O.P ( and myself ) in the right direction ?

One thing the O.P should be wary of is legality. If you take employment with someone you should have a work permit. Thais can take a dim view of people working illegally here. Not so long ago there was the foreigner arrested and deported just for drawing pictures and asking a small fee. So be careful or the consequences could be serious.
