With all the accumulated knowledge of Thai Visa contributors, could we develop a guide to understanding the various official statements from the Government, Red and Yellow spokes-persons? Here's a starter:

'Seeking a political solution' - doing nothing as I've no clue and no power

'Warning about tough action' - see above

'Joint house senate debate on the crisis' - see above

'Containing the red shirts' - keeping them out of Silom where the Police and Army have major business interests

'Offering full support' - about to stab you in the back

'Blockade' - a heap of tyres and bamboo sticks that anyone can just walk around

'Men in black' - out of work security guards

'Strategic check point' - group of snoozing army privates who would rather be on the border baiting the Cambodian troops into a scrap
