Agoda..............

Here try this site. This is only good for thousands of hotels in Thailand ONLY! Better than Agoda.

Check out Ajarn Donald's English Service and then click on their iDO24 tab they have a good selection. By far the best prices and selection.

You can Google Hotel in Pucket and you get many sites. One advice never believe one site, check multiple sides. I have found Agoda star ratings are always inflated. Also read the comments from the customers.

contact your issuing Bank-who gave you the credit card or contact the Creditcard company. You always have 30 days or 6 weeks after you get your bill to deny a payment and can speak with your Bank or your credit card company. Than starts a process which brings first your money back and second can secure that you have not to pay it later again, if you can prove that you are right.

I had a similar problem and could solve it.

-Patong-

Agoda is ok for bookings so I think, but on Patong I just go to the Guesthouses in Ratuthitroad, the new road near the Jungceyloncenter, Nanai Road, Soi Sainamyen, Soi Sansabai or the road high above Patong on the mountain and walk in and try to negotiate a good deal.

These Guesthouses, or most of them you will usualy not find in the Hotel booking Internetsites.

I've used several different sites including Agoda, Asiarooms, and a couple others that came up when I was looking at particular areas. Most end up been around the same price after tax although once in a while one will include breakfast or internet or something like that with their price.

Generally, the biggest difference is that some hotels are on one website and not the others. I've found some of the best values by searching for recommendations that someone else mentions. Many of them are only on lesser known websites.

Agoda and atsiam are often the cheapest in my experience. But also have a look at latestays dot com - used them before a few times. Only pay 10% on card and instant confirmation, pay the balance when you check in.

I booked a Hotel in Chiangmai through Agoda and have had to change my flight into Thailand (flight cancellation due to travel advisory). I have been trying to contact them without success for 3 days to change the dates of my reservation. The 'self-service' section of their website which enables you to change your booking was not functioning for 24 hours. They do not respond to emails and attempts at live chat via the website or telephone contact simply result in a message stating that "Due to unusually high volumes of traffic ...... blah blah blah ...... (hard to believe given the current parlous state of affairs in Thailand) ..... please contact us by email!".

Appalling customer service, and I shall certainly not be using this company again.

I've found that, with the add-ons, Agoda isn't one of the cheapest any more. Interestingly Asiarooms that had become expensive now seems competitive. However, when I made a booking last week I found the best price for my chosen hotel at Turismo Asia Co.

Read the revervation guarantee polices

(Our Agoda Customer Support Specialists will arrange a room at another convenient and comparable hotel and Agoda will pay for the first night's stay, equivalent to the actual cost of a 1 night stay based on the original reservation)

Anyone know will there be refund for the orginally booked and paid ?

Agree with a previous poster on the Star Ratings - over inflated. Who designates these properties? The property itself?

Other thing to watch out for is they are not very clear about what's included (breakfast) until you get to the booking screen.
