She will need a visa. My wife did and I am a New Zealander.

From memory the forms can be downloaded from NZ Foreign Affairs web site. Probably also from NZ High Commission

My Thai boyfriend and I are just about to do something similiar although he is here on a 309 visa, and we are traveling for a holiday to NZ later this year.

I have just gone through all the forms and can ascertain that the process is somewhat similiar to applying for a Tourist Visa to OZ.

  • Application form INZ 1017 (Visitors Visa) - Available from the website
  • Copy of Passport photos
  • Itinerary (if available we have already purchased tickets) or proposed travel dates
  • Reason to return i.e. proof of work, residence etc
  • Proof that you are able to support your self $1000 NZD per month or $400 if you have already booked and paid for accomodation.
  • Application Fee $105

Applications are lodged at GPO Box 365 Sydney NSW 2001

just dont leave it too late

The process can take awhile. It took 2 months for my gf application on her first go for a one month tourist visa.

Hi,

I did this several years ago, and was in the same situation as you are.

NZ Embassy in sydney did eventually grant the visa, but made it clear that they would not do so again, as they felt we were only going to NZ to use it as a "Visa run"

We were sent a letter with the Visa stating that my wife would not be granted any further NZ Visas while she was in OZ on a tourist Visa.

No sure if they were just having a bad day, or if they are generally like this.

Keep in mind that your wife can enter Vanuatu and get a Visa on Entry, no application required.

Good Luck.
