When we here last year there was a quite fantastic service of minibuses that started from the car park of T-L and went directly to the airport with a few, local stops en route. In all the trip took around an hour from take off and it cost a measly THB 25 per person.

We've been back a month now and have noticed that during the troubles none of the minibuses were around but over the last couple of days we've spotted a few back where there originally waited. Saying that, we didn't see a single one yesterday.

We'd like to take this service to the airport tomorrow (particularly as we only have hand luggage and baggage space is scare on the bus) and just wonder if anyone knows the current situation? Are they back in service, full or part time?

It's not a problem if not, as there is a taxi rank nearby that can haul us out to Survarnabhumi if need be, but the price of course is considerably different!

Appreciate any heads up anyone may have.

I can confirm the service was operational yesterday (2nd June) and we had a delightful run down to the airport.

Ordinarily the mini bus picks up passengers (usually locals) en route and it gets full quickly so luggage space is very limited, but not only did we just have hand luggage, there were plenty of spare seats. And the driver didn't hang around- it took us just over 45 minutes from setting off at T-L to alighting at Departures.

First class service with full air-con and all for just THB 30 per passenger, which is up just THB 5 from last year.

Never heard of this service, but will check it out. I live in the area.

It's been around for about a year but I have no idea of the running times or frequency.

The best way is to simply look in the car park and if there is a white mini bus there, jump on. They will get you to pay for your ticket on board before you set off and depending on the time, they may wait a bit for other passengers before taking off. Then they will pick up other people en route so the travel time varies- just allow enough time for your flight and keep luggage to a minimum.

Hope it works out for you.

Yeah, I was at the BTS yesterday, so I walked to that end of the platform to look for a minivan while waiting for the BTS to come. Sure enough, it came. The Thai writing said Suvarnabhumi to BTS-On Nut. So, it does exist. One came in the short span of 3 minutes while I was standing there. I will hang out and ask them about frequency the next time I am down there and see one. Thanks a lot for this tip. I am shocked that I hadn't heard of it before. Kudos!

If you go to the car park there is sometimes a small patio table there with a lady who does the bookings and sells the tickets. Unfortunately she does not speak any English but if your Thai is up to it, she should be able to answer your queries or offer a timetable. In my experience though, they do run frequently and I've seen at least five buses in the car park at once before.

If you get any further details about running times, start/finish hours, perhaps you can post this up here? I'd find it very useful as we head back and forth a number of times a year.

By the way, if you do have larger luggage, sit behind the driver as there is space to fit a bigger bag without it ending on your lap for an hour.
