Hi all,

I am trying to help a friend of mine to travel from BKK to Paris for a week. He applied for the visa and it was refused. He has good and stable job and decent bank statement. The trip is coming up soon (June 13, 2010) and all is already planned. However, in the rejection letter no explanation was offered what he was lacking. I don't think the embassy owes any explanation. It is difficult to improve his chance of getting a visa without knowing what was missing in the application.

I am wondering if any Thai had the same problem and if you reapplied and got a visa the second time around. Any tips are much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Happened to my GF last year. Each time she was providing the documents as requested, they were requesting a new one. This went on and on 3 or 4 times and we finally get her visa just a few days before our flight. She speaks French very well but I had to help her all along as they were driving her nuts. I can't even imagine what would have happenned to a regular tourist! Now the consulat has appointed TLSContact to do most of the job. One would expect improvement but hey! this is France Administration, right? Like with Thai administration, just keep smiling and be nice AND do follow up on a daily basis. I wish you all the best in dealing with this bunch of morons!! Oh, I'm French by the way...

You are not French? Your name does not sound french, English, or German maybe?

Anyway, Great Britain would not work, but if you are from a Schengen country, make the Visaapplication at your home-embassy for your friend and invite him, if you did not do that already and your finances allow that.
