hi guys

can anyone help me clear up a few things im not sure about

1)my friend got married in bkk some months back . he said an agency done everthing for them

my understanding is you have to submit your affimation to marry to the british embassy one day and have to wait to the next working day to get it back

is there any way possible it can be done tha same day?

2)he also said his wife got her id card changed into her now married name

is this possible to do with if the marriage certificate is not genuine

3) do you have to go to the ministry of foreign affairs in person to get the certificate made into a legal document or can an agent do that for them?

thanks guys

Q1: No. From Guidance for British nationals wishing to marry in Thailand

We are not able to arrange a same day service for the collection of completed affirmations.

Q2: Legally, I doubt it. But if the ampur didn't discover that the certificate was false, then they probably would do so.

Q3: An agent can do so.

I assume from your topic title that your friend's wife has been refused as the marriage certificate is false. Surely he must know if he married her or not? Did he go to the ampur with her? Did he sign some forms? Did the ampur give him a copy of the marriage certificate?
