travellife Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 I have a 6:15am flight. I probably need to leave around 4am from the Lad Phrao MRT station area. I don't think the Airport link will be operating that early. And the MRT or BTS doesn't operate that early. The buses are running, but nothing near Lad Phrao that is convenient. I tried the bus at Rama 9, but that won't be convenient this time. What is the cost of a taxi to get to the airport from Lad Phrao?
bangkokburning Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 b220+ from Huay Kwang, no traffic - no tollroad. B20 for pick up.
F4UCorsair Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 If you're alone, a taxi isn't much more than the airport bus. If there are two of you, then a taxi is cheaper per person than the bus.
bangkokburning Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I would not take the airport bus from anywhere but Khao Sarn road. I do not see them as reliable and the pickup points other than KSR and one/two hotels seem really dicey.

This guy has to catch an early plane. Buses are not running anyway, Not aware of any bus in this area.

Yeah, that airport bus has become REALLY pricey. I think B150 now.
travellife Posted July 2, 2010 Author Posted July 2, 2010 b220+ from Huay Kwang, no traffic - no tollroad. B20 for pick up. Is there a number to call for a pickup or is it easier just to walk down the street and ask a taxi driver from the street to pick me up? I assume it is safer and more reliable if I call a number (not sure). I think the b220 is the metered rate. And I can ask not to use the expressway.
bangkokburning Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I can get you a number when my gf comes home from work. Better if you have someone can speak Thai. "No Toll" should do perhaps. Your s.o. can tell him when s/he kisses you goodbye. You can take the taxi# and file a complaint if there is one. PM me cause this is not something im likely to remember ok? :-) Hey, how do you like it up there. My GF is considering condos up there but it's all about price. I'd rather she look closer toward work. New mall in Lad Phrao?

The main difference is how close someone is to work. In the case of Lad Phrao, the MRT and BTS make it easier to transfer to the main areas of the city. I assume condo prices continue to rise the closer you get to Sukumwit.
Lakegeneve Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 No need to take the expressway at 4am as Rama 9 is fine. (your only saving 25 baht anyway). If you're alone, a taxi isn't much more than the airport bus. If there are two of you, then a taxi is cheaper per person than the bus. The bus costs a max of 38 baht so how can a taxi be cheaper for two from Latphrao? In answer to bangkokburning, most of the public buses routes to/from the Airport run 24 hrs.
