Nissan Navara 2010

Featured Replies

I bought this in December in (Chiangmai) so it's still under warranty.

After being driven hard for 10 miles or so it develops the following problem: every time I step firmly on the accelerator there is a rattling noise which persists until I ease off on the accelarator. It isn't the 'knocking' one might expect if one is trying to accelerate in too high a gear, because the noise is there for instance when I'm cruising in 5th or 6th at high speed and then try to go faster, or if I try to accelerate in low gear. My girlfriend has never encountered the problem because she always drives it gently. At the last service she told the garage about it but they obviously didn't find or understand the problem or didn't remedy it.

Would appreciate any suggestions about what the problem might be or on what I might tell the Nissan people at the next service? A very technical reply using automotive jargon would go completely over my head so please make allowance for my layman brain.

Many thanks in advance.

you sure it's not your wife's teeth chattering?

My best advice to you is do not wait for a service, go to the dealer and have a ' technician ' sit in your ride so he can hear the noise. I did it with a brake vibration and the guy sussed it straight away. It really is the only way. :)

Was that by any chance a Nissan Navara, and in Chiangmai? And if so, would you please tell me the garage you used? No that would be expecting too much.

But thanks for the advice. It makes sense. = if I cn set the 'noise' going and keep it going for the technician, I'll give it a go.

To avoid misunderstanding that's a d, not a t.
