jaideeguy
In my search for a place in LOS to moor a boat, the Mon river just outside of Ubon was mentioned and was told that there is a falang doing that....true?? And what are the legalities/facilities etc.... thanks in advance
pnustedt
The Mon at Ubon can be very fast flowing and its depth varies enormously - I would have thought it a dangerous place to moor. I would go to the east near Chong Mek and inquire at the resort near Si Rin Thorn Dam, they have a restaurant and good facilities.
jaideeguy
What about that large resevoir south of Ubon?? I see [by google earth] that it has lots of inlets and what apears to be private land/farms surrounding it. HEY.....anyone from Ubon??
bergen
I think Moon river near Ubon is doable. There are already several floating restaurants moored on the river all year around, and I see no difference with a houseboat. I have not heard of any farang doing it. The large reservoir south east of the city will be the Sirindorn dam, which also might be possible. Don't know about legalities/facilities etc. at either location.
