October 27, 201015 yr I am expecting delivery of a Ford Fiesta in Dec. Since it has the SYNC system I am looking at mating it with a mobile phone and/or a GPS system. I am reasonably tech savvy but not with cell phones or GPSs since I am a low to non user. Any advise would be appreciated as to buying a cell phone with built in GPS or a stand alone unit would be better. The least complicated solution works for me as opposed to a more sophisticated system for frequent use. I understand that the Htc? and Nokia phones have built in GPS but not sure how this applies to the SYNC system. Thanks Edited October 27, 201015 yr by scorpio1945
October 27, 201015 yr I have used both individual & combined systems and even after 7 years I still prefer my Garmin GPS especially in Thailand. I use it in the car and as I walk around Bangkok. My model IQue M4 is now outdated but current models are available from Gadget Trend www.gadgetrend.com in Bangkok.

I too have used both types of system and dependant on frequency of use I would go with the stand alone system every time. I have a Garmin Nuvi and find it excellent for almost everything. I got mine in MBK 7000baht. You can use phones etc for the odd occasion but I believe in the right tool for the right job and the Garmin does it for me with a larger display and clear audible directions if you want.
October 27, 201015 yr I assume you're getting a Fiesta from Ford Thailand, in which case a SYNC system is not offered. It comes with voice control and bluetooth (cool stuff) but it's not the same as SYNC.
