November 8, 201015 yr Most people have heard of the Amazon Kindle, but it'll cost an arm and a leg I suppose to have one delivered in Thailand. Has anyone seen any e-readers on sale anywhere?
November 8, 201015 yr I looked everywhere but couldn't find one. Finally resorted to buying from a company in the US. UPS charges were $50 on top of cost plus 7% tax to be paid on arrival.
November 9, 201015 yr You have no real choice but to buy a Kindle as Sony do not & do not intend to sell their e-readers in Thailand. I have that news from Sony themselves, along with their statement that even if you buy one of theirs in another country they will not provide a repair service here. I recently bought a Kindle & the cost was not outrageous, the delivery was only four working days from order to having it in my hands. And I have enjoyed the well built feel & overall performance every day since. I bought the latest model with 3G & wifi and the downloads of books, magazines & audio is very fast & costs me nothing. The battery life is very good, weeks not hours, and the legibility is excellent thanks to the ability to vary the font size. Mark me down as a satisfied customer. I still love books but getting the ones I want can be a challenge out here and I am running out of storage space, so my Kindle is a true asset.
November 9, 201015 yr Author The Kindle, especially the new one seems to be really good. I know it doesn't have colour but wondering if you've used it for magazines, is it practical? By that I mean is it alright to move from article to article easy enough. I have a smartphone and it's alright to use the net when I'm out and about and for something fairly quickly, but not for serious surfing; do you feel the same about reading magazines? I really want to wait until a colour reader is available for magazines. I don't want to buy a tablet as I don't need one, an e-reader is all I want, plus I'm told that you get eyestrain with reading books etc on an Ipad.

November 9, 201015 yr http://www.read.in.th/store ..... it seems that you can get them here.... The wifi version is only 6,200bht inc tax delivered from Amazon USA (4 days) ..... why pay 7,700bht? 3g version 7,800bht from the USA ...... so 9,500bht on that site is just silly.
