siamect
I think you need to describe your problem more accurately. What do you do to get it working again? reboot computer or router or what? When your internet connection go down and comes back again you router has a new WAN IP but still the same LAN IP. It get the WAN IP from your provider. You computer has an IP that it receives from the router using DHCP or you can configure it to use a static IP. Can you still see the router from your computer like http://192.168.0.1 or something like that? Can you do a "ping yahoo.com" from the command prompt. if not, can you do a "ping 72.30.2.43"? If that is the case you have a problem with the DNS but the routing of the messages is ok. Check that you have configured your router to obtain a dns server from the provider or that you have manually put in a dns server ip. Check that your computer get it from the router ("ipconfig /all" from command prompt) does "nslookup yahoo.com" work? if not try "nslookup yahoo.com 8.8.8.8" first one is using your default dns server proabably you providers, and the second one is using googles dns server Martin Edited December 8, 2010 by siamect
