Changing The Settings Of A Router Using A Command Prompt

Featured Replies

If your router has ssh / telnet enabled and running then, yes it is.

Check your routers manual for this, printed copy most likely won't tell you the necessary commands to configure the router apart from enabling the console connections.

Google will be your friend in finding the commands for that

in Single Port Forwarding; I can add telnet port 23 and ssh port 22 for External Port and Internal Port; TCP as Protocol; and enabled them though I am not sure whether they can share the same IP Address;

To use command prompt, try 'telnet 192.168.1.1' (substitute your router IP) and see what happens.

You may have to install telnet (it's part of Windows but not always installed).

I use it all the time as I had to disable the web interface on my router (it interfered with access to a web-server I was running at the time).
