Jingthing
That's sad to hear about happening to such a young man. It's worth investigating but if it's really true that he was an out of control drinker, it's certainly easy enough for that to kill you.
Credo
Very sad and the death seems suspicious. He's 27 and managed not to die of alcohol poisoning in Russia. I think it's harder in Thailand to get a hold of the lethal stuff that folks in Russia consume. I know Thailand has some fairly lethal stuff, but I don't know that a tourist could/would find it so easily. I hope they get to the bottom of his situation. Had a young freind pass away back home in a similar position after a night on the town. He ended up choking on his own vomit and he was far from an alcholic or drank heavily. They do need to determine the cause of death but thats what coreners and patholegists are for. Sad and easily could happen anywhere.
Jingthing
Classic alcohol vomit death is really common and it would also be quite easy for a competent coroner to diagnose. It doesn't take any special stuff to do it, it's just a matter of dosage. Many people do drink even more on their holidays.
