Build Your Own Computer

Recommended Posts

I came home from BKK Friday with my new PC that I got built by Pansonics in Panthip Plaza.

I did research for 6 weeks to find out what I needed and then tried to find it here in Thailand. I got 3-4 quotes and in the end Pansonics were far cheaper than anyone else.

If I had got it built here in Chiang Rai they wanted 60% more, in other shops in BKK 30-40 % more.

Great guys and they loaded the PC with all software I need plus some more.

Today they called me and said they put the last 8GB of memory in the post because it was not available last Thursday. (I think there might be some problems with memory in the future if not Japan starts production soon! ) They gave me accountnbr and I paid in the afternoon.

Just want to tell you guys that want to build or want to get a special PC built where to go.

Pansonics are on third floor in Panthip Plaza.

PM me if you want any details!

Specs and what you actually ended up paying would be good to know for comparison >

Here are the specs:

Case Cooler Master Haf X Full size tower

PSU Cooler Master Pro Gold 1200 Watt

MB ASUS Rampage III Extreme

CPU I7-950

RAM Kingston Hyper 16GB

VGA ASUS GTX-560 Ti

HDD WD Black 500GB

HDD WD Black 1TB x 3 pcs

DVD LG Sata

CPU-cooler Coolder Master Hyper 212

Monitor LED Acer 20" x 2 pcs

Keyboard&Mouse Logitech wireless

Ext HDD WD My Book 1 TB x 2 pcs

Speakers Creative SBS A520

OS Win 7 Pro

Fans extra x 2

All together 84 000 baht

I bought a UPS Ablerex 700 Watt (1000 VA) here in Chiang Rai and with the program that comes with it I can see that I use max 40 % of 700 Watt so the PSU 1200 Watt was an overkill but that was what some "experts" in a forum in USA recommended. I think the 850 Watt been enough.

But I am very satisfied with all of it.

Great price OP. I did a quick comparison on a custom PC build site in the US and I came up with the following (notice no external drives):

GMT-QX / 100

Intel 130W TDP Core i7-950 (3.06 GHz) 4-Core $428.00 x1 $428.00

GPC-715 1U Socket-1366 Active Heatsink $68.00 x1 $68.00

ASUS Rampage III Extreme Intel X58 ATX $548.00 x1 $548.00

Kingston KVR1333D3N9/4G DDR3-1333 4GB CL9 $128.00 x4 $512.00

WD Caviar Black 500 GB $88.00 x1 $88.00

WD Caviar Black 1 TB $128.00 x3 $384.00

LG GT10N SATA Slim 8X DVD+/-W / 8X DVD+RW $92.00 x1 $92.00

EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1-GB $348.00 x1 $348.00

Zalman ZM-RS6F Surround Sound Headphones Retail $69.00 x1 $69.00

Quiet 8x 120mm+ Fans EATX Cooler Master ATCS 840 $308.00 x1 $308.00

Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200W 90% Efficiency PSU $398.00 x1 $398.00

Samsung P2570HD Black 24.6" Widescreen LCD Display $438.00 x1 $438.00

Logitech Black USB Wireless Desktop MK300 Keyboard and Mouse Retail $80.00 x1 $80.00

Mozilla Firefox Browser and Thunderbird Email (Free With Any OS) $0.00 x1 $0.00

1 Year Parts and Labor Standard Warranty Included Free $0.00 x1 $0.00

Self-Assembly Of System (Install Performed By You) $0.00 x1 $0.00

Total: $3,761.00

Also, I made some substitutions to approximate the price of what you chose, but I think they may be poor choices. Your speakers I couldn't find, so I chose a headphone with a middle of the road price. Also, there wasn't an option for 2 20' monitors, so I chose a 24' to approximate the price of 2 LCD's. So add in the price of 2 WD external drives at say $65 each, you get an approximate total of $3891 USD. At current exchange rates, that would be 117,635 THB. So you got a savings of approximately 33,635 THB. Did your 84,000 include the additional 8GB of RAM?

Regardless, a great PC for a good price. Good job.

No, I paid another 3650 baht for the 8GB including a USB cardreader (250 baht).

Thanks for the info about prices in US, makes me even more happy !

I get 2,700 USD before sales tax from New-egg which converts to 81,639 baht before U.S. sales tax. I used a LG Bluray combo drive and I substituted the Creative A520 speakers with a Creative inspire T6160 5.1 set to get that figure. You got a good deal. Your board supports triple channel memory, are you using all three? I would've went with a SSD since your going with a dream system. Wish I could afford one.

How much did you pay for your 560 Ti and what model is it? The store I'm looking at sells the ASUS brand 560 Ti for 8,490 and 9,090 for the factory overclock.

I paid 8650 and it was the non-OC.

@Can you snap a pic of your Dream Machine and post it here@

No, and I am not posting any photos of my wife either ! :realangry:

(Sorry, I tried yesterday and today but I got "error" when I try to "Add to post".

It is probably to sexy so TV are blocking it out! )
