Debothai
I have managed to donwload and install the android application morelocale2 that enables thai characters to be read in my Samsung Galaxy S, however I can't seem to be able to use it for typing sms in thai...I like to do that to send sms to my wife, and it helps me to learn a bit more of the language....Any ideas? Phil Conners
I'm not familiar with morelocale2 (and I don't speak Thai) but I looked up "Thai Keyboard" in the web version of Android Market, and it came up with quite a list of Thai Keyboard options. You might want to take a look at one of those.

Phil Conners
It ought to happen automatically as long as you login to Market using the same Gmail account that you registered with the Android phone.
BB1950
Actually it is not very complicated. Here's a video to watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evAiHzNPEgw As Phil Conners mentioned, If you use the same Google account on your phone and the web version of Android Market. When you install an application from the Web, it automatically installs on the phone. To purchase Android apps from the Market, you will need to set up a Google checkout account using the same Google account that was used on the phone. You could also do a search on the Market application on your Android for "thai keyboard" and install one from there. You could also go to a developers website, download an apk file and copy it to you SDCARD. Then using any file manager, or application manager on the Android you could install the application. For example you could go to http://www.tswipe.com/ to download their keyboard. Edited May 20, 2011 by BB1950
lomatopo
Can you display Thai characters on your phone, say when some sends you an SMS with Thai characters? Which version of Android do you have? Settings, About Phone, Firmware version 2.1.x? 2.2.x? What does it say under "Model Number"? SAMSUNG-SGH-I9000? Something else? What options do you have under Locale and text? Text settings, Input method(s)? Where did you buy your phone? I suspect you have Android 2.1 so would need a hack of sorts, DroidSans fonts. Or you could update to 2.2 then you will have Thai fonts and could get a free Thai keypad. I have a Samsung Galaxy S, with 2.2.1 and use the Arch Thai keyboard. edited to add: the other popular Thai keyboard is DoridSans Thai keypad. It sounds like you are able to download apps. from the Android market to your phone successfully? Yes? You have a GMail account, can log0in, have a network connection? The local 2.2 build may include a Thai keyapd; I have seen it on some other Samsung models (Cooper), where it is a very slick interface to change keypads on the fly.
