She has visited the UK a couple of years ago, but now with the birth of our son, we intend to go back annually . Previously she travelled on a family visitor 6 month visa. I will be applying for a new visa soon, but what visa would you recommend if we intend to go back every year for at least a mont at a time ? Do I have to apply for a family visiting visa every trip, or do you have experience of something more practical ?

Ah, one more thing. Do you have to make the initial application online, and make an appointment ? This wasn't the case last time for us. We just took the completed forms in with supporting documents, and waited in line. Has the procedure changed ?

Perhaps a longterm Visit Visa - valid for 1, 2, 5 or 10 years.

Yes, the procedure has changed. She will now have to complete an online application and make an appointment to hand in her supporting documents and have her biometrics taken.
