CelticBhoy
I'm doing the Mukdahan to Bangkok trip again and as I like a wee look at the places in between I have decided to stop in Korat for a day or two and let my boys have a gander at the zoo. Can any of you guys suggest a good hotel or resort which is reasonably close to the zoo?
Patronus
Google Korat Resort. A little dated but good sized rooms + swimming pool. On the zoo road. http://koratresorthotel.com/th/contact.php

Lefty
The Korat zoo is hugh, recommend renting one of their golf carts to get around. Lefty
CelticBhoy
I don't think I've ever met a zoo named Hugh before . . . . .
soihok
There is also a large water park next to the zoo, has a couple of slides and is good for cooling off. If you see many coaches parked outside though, give it a miss as it will be packed.

GooEng
we took our boys there couple of months back and they loved it. would recommend hiring a buggy for definite, it is large and walking or bicycling is tiring and sweaty. eat before or after as the food available inside is rubbish. if you've a car and are driving to the zoo just stay in town it's not far to the zoo. i'd recommend the hotel a couple of doors up from the Walrus pub in town, steve the Walrus owner will point it out to you, sorry but i forget the name of it and the street it's on and can only offer the Walrus as a landmark.
