What's with this guys and casinos?

It's not casinos per se, but police corruption which is at the heart of so much that is wrong here. By exposing police corruption he stays in the public view, challenges the police to be more discreet with their corruption, and exposes the double stantards of the government who got rid of Vichian and put in Dr. Thaksin't brother in law who can do no better.

It's sad that some people apparently think that Chuwit is really an anti-corruption crusader.

More likely, he's trying to deflect attention from the brothels he owns.

It's sad that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Teach me something, rather than just making snarky comments. I'm all ears.

The guy got rich from police corruption!

And now spends his money, as an elected MP in parliament, exposing police corruption. A long-term and major task, if ever there was one ! <_<

There's more rejoicing in heaven, over one sinner who's reformed, etc etc

He doesn't own any brothels and haven't for years.

Police Investigate Tip-off of New Gambling Den

Police have conducted a search at a driving range in Bangkok after the Love Thailand Party leader claimed the range is being renovated to turn it into a new gambling den in Bangkok.

Armed with a search warrant, over 100 police officers from Wang Thong Lang police station, together with officers from the Metropolitan Police Investigation Sub-Division 4, conducted a search at Number One driving range at Soi Saha Kan Pramun on Pracha Uthit Road.

The move took place after Love Thailand Party leader Chuwit Kamolvisit revealed that the driving range is in the process of being developed into a gambling den.

The initial investigation showed that the driving range has been closed for over three months.

Renovation and decoration is underway to turn it into an entertainment complex.

The front of the building is completely closed off by corrugated galvanized iron sheets.

During the search, 28 illegal alien workers were found working at the site.

They are being held at Wang Thong Lang police station for further investigation.

Deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 4 Police, Colonel Patchara Boonyasit disclosed that the driving range is the same place mentioned by Chuwit, but nothing unusual was found, except two men who were strictly guarding the gate.

Patchara noted that an urgent investigation will be carried out to find out who owns the place and if the renovation is aimed at turning it into a new gambling den.

We'll see how much rejoicing there is when he rallies against the police corruption that keeps Cowboy, Nana, and Patpong in business.

And, remember it took them 3 days to investigate an existing den a couple of weeks ago.

When they know it's there, they take there time investigating or make up some excuse for not investigating. When they know it's not there, they a in there in a flash.

What a curious comment, I myself haven't been to any of those places for 20+ years, so could care less about them. There is life for expats outside the Bangkok sex-industry, you know !

And Chuwit's exposure of corruption by the BiBs is commendable, unless one wants the corrupt society to go on like this, forever. <_<

I apologize if my comment doesn't apply to you.

It was meant more as a general comment based on the fact that many farangs rejoice at anti-corruption rhetoric -- but would probably go quiet on the matter if it meant that their favorite places would cease to exist.

A lot of these places aren't breaking any laws being open, but they still need to pay tea money.

If they have girls that you can "off", they're breaking the law.

If they are "showing", again they're breaking the law.

If they allow smoking, again.

If they are allowing any activity on the premises that could be considered obscene or against good morals....see a pattern developing?

There is a pattern there. One that doesn't (strictly) apply to a lot of bars. Every bar and restaurant in Thailand has girls that you can "off".

Even bars that don't have any of the things you listed still often have to pay tea money. If they don't, they will surely get accused of doing some of them.

Are you for real? Please tell me you're joking.

When you generalise like that, yes, I'm for real. You can pick up girls in any bar or restaurant in Thailand.

The point I was making above, is that even when you don't do any of those things, there is still tea money to be paid.

I think we have different definitions of "off".

My definition is that you pay the bar a fee to take one of their staff home for sex. It is a thinly veiled type of pandering.

I'm not sure what yours is.

I was aware of what you meant, but do you think these bars advertise that.

Still ... the point is that many bars do not do that and still have to pay tea money.
