getting down to the nitty gritty now.

In the process of putting together settlement visa for my wife to be (have decided against the fiance route) and have almost got everything done my end.

Have opted to make an original and a copy version of the application and supporting docs...good idea???

My index is as follows;

1.Copy of application form

2.covering letter(from sponsor)

3.supporting documents

3.1 personal details (applicant)

3.2 personal details (sponsor)

3.3 relationship

3.3 employment and finances

3.4 accommodation

4. A1 english test certificate and TB Test certificate

what u think?

my covering letter cross references everything to the supporting documents.

Is there a need for a covering letter from the applicant as i have explained everything in my covering letter??

As for certified copy of my passport, does every page need to be certified or just the photo page?

was gonna get a solicitor to certify it.

As im self employed, I should submit tax returns..i have copies from my accountant..wil they suffice ?

BTW this is my 6th uk visa application ive put together, albeit they have been visit visa's(and succesful).

Question time eh ....thanks in advance.

No need for a covering letter from your wife as her details will be in the application form and any clarifications and additional information will be in your letter.

I would recommend including a copy of every page of your passport; those with Thai entry/exit stamps to show how often you have visited her and the blank ones to show that they are blank. No need to pay a solicitor to certify them; self certification is fine. Simply write "I, full name, certify that this is a true copy of page number of passport number xxxxxxxxxxxxx. Signed and dated."

You tax returns are fine, but I'd submit your last 6 months bank statements too. All accounts, business, personal and savings.

Keeping a copy of everything is a good idea, just in case. Remember that if you want original documents back then you should also submit copies.
