I want to start bio-char production on a small scale and I'm trying to find a place were I can buy second-hand 200 liter drums, which are needed to produce bio-char.

Thanks

Chiang Mai Plastic will work.. Or second hand, there are several shops, for example on the Hang Dong road on the intersection with the Middle Ring. (same side as Makro)

Steel drum might be more advisable - the plastic might melt smile.png

Or am I wrong in thinking bio-char production involves a bit of burning?

You can use concrete rings that they use for septic waste and stack them together with cement.

Thumbs up with bio-char, not many know about it.

KRS1, I doubt that the cement rings will withstand the heat. Maybe one time but multiple?

Steel drums are easier although a bit small.

MESmith, indeed this involves a bit of burning. 400C and more.

Hope anybody can point me to a supplier of drums.

Thanks

On the river road between the Electric Company /foreign cemetary and the traffic light at Holiday Inn intersection. There is a place with metal barrels on the left (going south) that sells them. Blue color so you can't miss them if your watching.

Are you interested in buying Eucalyptus wood chips, shavings, bark and/or sawdust for your Bio-char?

It's all sorted, bone dry, clean stored and certified (soon we will be the first in Thailand to also have FSC certified Eucalyptus)

Contact me tru PM.

Do you mind explaining how to make it, I would like to make some land fill fertile.

Hello HaveANiceDay,

Have not done it before but will do some trial based on what friend Google told me. As soon as I know how you're welcome to come and see the process. Need to do it often since I have 9 rais to help.

Khun Vee,

Have enough wood at the moment. Had to chop down many mango trees due to stemborer problems. Might come back to you later though.

Thanks
