BuaBS
I'm more modest. If it were possible , I would take my Thai Isuzu back home and drive it there. It would it be unique in my country as my model is not exported to europe. But of course it is not possible , because emissions are not up to european standards, no heating in the car and last but not least they have the stiring wheel on the wrong side, in continental europe , that is. Not everyone has the money or the will to drive BMW , jag's, 4x4's,...
rmacdon61
I'd be driving my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger, 340 V8 4 speed car. Has a 150MPH speedo and it will do it!!!
a10ams
I have a 996 Carrera 4 sitting in a garage in Glasgow. I bought it a year before I moved to Thailand.
Tanaka
Without a doubt it would be the Ultima GTR 720. It is impossible to keep your mouth from reaching your ears when driving it.

WarpSpeed
I'd be driving my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger, 340 V8 4 speed car. Has a 150MPH speedo and it will do it!!! It may do it but with that old Dodge suspension it would be like riding on a big marshmallow about to take off! Butt puckering stuff that is! It's counter advantage in that situation is it's weight but it does look good, with all the retro cars coming out lately this would be a nice one to revive IMO. But alas it seems they only revived the name and while not a bad looking ride with impressive specs like a 2.0l with 160 Hp a 1.4l turbo with a 160Hp and a 2.4l four on their top spec model with 184Hp and projected to start from under $16,000 it still isn't a "retro" Dart.. http://www.autoguide...-auto-show.html In fact I'm going to give this car serious consideration when I get back later this year.. transam
If l was back home l would still have a Merc E220CDi auto run around, and my 76 Pontiac T/A. 20 odd year ''owned'' fun car.
jamora
If I still lived in Denmark I would be driving some old piece of shit. DK got about the most expensive car in the world, tax is + 200%, crazy stuff. Gasoline prices is in the top 5 world most expensive too, so only max 1600cc engine. Ah yes need winter tires for the cold month as well for ice/snow covered roads, they salt the roads so your car disappears under you, he-he. In that regard I don't miss my old country at all. +1! My first car was a Skoda Fabia 1.4 MPI, and it was around 160.000 DKK = 30.000 USD I guess that Danes are among the few that find cars cheap in Thailand... MoonRiverOasis
I would get my wife to have one of these... So I could drive it...... (I would have its big brother) Wifey also got very excited by this.. until she saw it was a rag-top.. Mind you, it would take some 'transformer-like' engineering to make it a hard-top convertible
BlackArtemis
I JUST sold my mustang 20mins ago, and for cheap too. Got one last ride in her. Chirped the gears, got her sideways and had fun as she screamed along with her Longtubes and cherry bombs. I'm thinking a slick Yamaha SR400 with a supertrap is going to be the best cost effective substitute for me when i get back to Chiang Mai... Apartment living means no car, as I wouldn't have a place to work on it. I wouldn't mind a Toyo KE30, TA27, or BMW e30 though... Being 30 and teaching won't get me a few million baht car, even once I start at the international schools. Oh well

Oh well If I were you I'd buy this Escort Mexico replica in a heart beat if I were planning to stay here, looks like Murf has done a real bang up job on this puppy, at one time I even considered it for a classic car series but he did too good a job to risk it for that and it has a Toyo engine but still may have a class to compete in, not sure, but as I said too nice to risk out there with the fender benders and I don't like to be held back worrying about potential car damage.. JFYI it's listed here on TV and he also has a video available on YouTube to see it run, it sounds nice and throaty for a four banger.. http://classifieds.t...oor-147237.html Edited March 17, 2012 by WarpSpeed

For what he seems to have put into that car and the quality I see without seeing in person I think it's worth it having done similar work myself but not to that extent, sourcing parts and proper support work here is a massive undertaking to get quality results... Your Audi is not a classic I'm afraid so doesn't really compare in that sense..

No, I didn't own a classic or have a Fox with a huge transplant, just a SN95 newedge with the lowly 4.6 2V. But I got her in 2002 with 2500 on her. I was a full time student and owning a fastback at that time would have not been fun, no place to tinker on it!
