Hi

If anyone can shed some light on my ''plight'' it would be appreciated..

I have tried on 2 occasions to obtain a ''Uk tourist visa'' for my Thai partner of 3 years.

the grounds of there refusal was that , i did not provide evidence that we are in a relationship ??, does anyone know what kind of evidence they require.

and also, would it be easier to apply for the UK visa via an agency or something, do they have more weight when it comes to obtaining one.

we only want to go back to visit my Family, as my mum has just recently had a big operation...

anyway, any info, is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

James

Hi

Thanks for the reply, but we both live in Thailand, - but first met 3 years ago in the UK, we still have e-mails from 2009 in our ''saved messages''

would this be sufficient.. ??

thanks again

cheers

In my experience, yes. However, I understand it's important to show that the messages go in both directions.

I also provided copies of entry and exit stamps in our passports to show that we took holidays abroad together.

I understand that dated photographs of couples together are also helpful - though I didn't submit any of these.

Photographs of you together. Anything connecting the both of you to your home, rent receipts, rent book, anything showing both your names as living there. Bank stuff - joint bank account, or evidence of you paying money into your wife's account. Mentioned already, but things like hotel receipts where you might have gone on holiday somewhere.

Have a look at my post over here at

It was to the Australian Government but many of the basic principles are applicable.

The #1 reason, that I have been able to glean why most Visas are declined, is not the reason for travel but the underwhelming reason for the ladies return to Thailand.

james, we got knocked back the first time with our first tourist before we got settlement, re-applied through an agent and got the tourist, they just know how to word things when youre new to it i suppose, and learned from that and got the settlement on our own. good luck mate
