corkscrew
It's only been in the past few months that these electronic traffic congestion signs have started to pop up. I was heading north on Nara. and I decided to pass up Sathorn and go west on Silom. It was 3:30PM on Wednesday. Of course a look at my watch told me that Sathorn would be a mess. The signs are probably most helpful to visitors. Edited December 14, 2005 by corkscrew
jbowman1993
I suppose they will help me more when I can read more, more than 12 Thai letters anyway. But I am only in the second chapter of my thai language book, so there are more to come! lol
Jai Dee
I was driving through Bangkok most of yesterday, and found the signs totally useless. My Thai missus just said that they're up there to tell people which roads are which, and where you can turn. She was just as confused as me as to their purpose... Nothing beats experience and a little local knowledge...
EVO
Cant read Thai, but from local knowledge i know what road is what on there, and they seem ok. Not sure how often they are updated though.

Not sure how often they are updated though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think they are updated minute by minute as the color code changes frequently....but, the data base that they use might be questionable. Look, if I was the man in charge of the Sathorn sign I would just look at my wrist watch and push RED for anytime between 3 and 7PM. I could never be fired for that. EVO
Too true Mr. Corkscrew. If im heading anywhere near Sathron i take the bike. In fact i try NEVER to drive between about 4 and 9pm and allways take the bike if i must go anywhere.
