Jimjim Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) "The forensic team is currently gather evidence around the scene." They have forensic teams here? I thought they were just cops with pickups scooping up the bodies. Laugh all you want but there's at least one very famous forensic scientist in Thailand and she's very good. She's solved a lot of cases that would have left others baffled. She's known for her unique look and she often dies her hair outlandish colors. She's a pretty a-typical Thai all around, really. And when's the last murder YOU solved? edit: I guess Docno beat me too it. Edited April 21, 2012 by Jimjim

Her very public support for (and continued usage of) the completely discredited GT200 'bomb detector' has kind-of killed her international reputation.
dekbahnnok Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Ritual Mayhem....... tibetans used kapalas or skull bowls in religious practice. they are quite expensive and even Chinese rob graves to get skulls to sell to them. These bowls are expensive in Europe and the US as they are popular with collectors. some Thais may have been trying to sell skull bowls or may use them in rituals. some Thai 'witches' burry foetesus in clay pots then dig them up later to use them in poisons and other potions.
webfact Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 3 Arrested in Human Skull Case BANGKOK: -- Police have arrested three men suspected of stealing human skulls from a temple in Pathum Thani Province for black magic. Police have arrested Singkorn Kruadang, Worachet Thawornpian and Niphon Srisuk, on charges of stealing human skulls from a morgue at Pichitpitayaram Temple in Pathum Thani Province for occult rituals. On April 18, five human skullls with large hole on their foreheads were discovered in a sack under a bridge on the bank of Klong 13 canal. Worachet has admitted to stealing the skulls from the temple and selling them to Singkorn, a well-known black magic practitioner in the area, for 1,200 baht. The charm maker has some 20 regular customers, who would pay a small upfront fee of 25 Satang and an additional amount, once the ritual is completed. He once earned a total fee of 2,000 baht from one customer. However, most customers said the charms failed to work as promised. Police have charged Singkorn and his assistant Nipon with stealing and possessing stolen properties and Worachet with robbery. -- Tan Network 2012-05-02
heiwa Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 All will be considered "suicides" in a few days time. Just give it time for the realization of the forensic difficulties ahead to sink in. Some souls obviously who opened their mouths too wide - one must take it on the chin when you are being fleeced.
heiwa Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I rekon they are accidental farang deaths caused by banging your head against the wall too hard There but for the grace of God, go I! If the tourists only knew what went on here - when you tell them - they think you are insane - I gave up long ago. Lawlessness pretty well sums it up. Isn't the most violent country in the world for gun murders? Many other ways to kill people.

Anyway, Thailand has one of Asia's best known forensic pathologists ...she is very well-respected and has even been brought in by other governments to help out with investigations. See: http://en.wikipedia....ip_Rojanasunand so much thailand bashing - something is either fact or fiction. any other way of thinking is delusional. any one who has spent time in thailand know how things work around here.

True, especially when they find the hands and feet tied, the bag over the head, rag in mouth etc. Its the need to humiliate satisfied and to let the loved ones know that your son died like a dog. What religion could this be?
Docno Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 In today's news: turns out it was a black magic operation to help broken hearted women reclaim their errant husbands. Bodies were exhumed from graves by a helper and the skulls provided to a 'maw phee' who made an elixir from the front part of the skull. I assume that fish sauce and chilies were added :-) The doc freely admits that this elixir was not very effective, so the ladies who drank this nasty concoction have my sympathies. The doc's helper was supposed to dispose of the skulls in a more 'final manner' but got lazy and simply bagged them and tossed them into a canal where they were later discovered by a fisherman. I can't give the link, because I read it in the BP.
