Anti-human trafficking operation planned for South Pattaya entertainment zone

PATTAYA:--The Region 2 Child and Women Protection Unit in association with the Social Development and Human Security Department of Pattaya are preparing an operation to clear South Pattaya entertainment areas of street beggars and all forms of human trafficking involving Thai and foreign nationals who work in the area.

Journalists were invited to join officers on their initial survey on Friday Night. They will be targeting two main areas, Sunee Plaza and Walking Street where the majority of problems occur according to officers who understand that many tourists come to Pattaya to experience the night-life but the industry has its darker side where organized gangs will bring Thai’s and foreigners to the area to work as their street vendors, beggars or prostitutes.
