I am looking for suggestions where to find approximately 25 ;either good quality T shirts or polo type shirts.

Need them as staff uniforms; quality has to be up there as I want to get logos embroidered front and back. (don’t want screen printing)

Thanks

Thanks for that info.

I should have said, I realise Bkk is the T shirt capital, but I think a search around Chiang Mai is better and more economical.

To go to bkk just to look will cost me 100bt per shirt....even if i dont buy (if thats possible)

The stitiching is not that simple, its all computer designed, set up as you may appreciate; not like the poxy name tag stitching you see them doing in tesco.

Maybe the Waroros for the shirts is the way to go I think

Try the wholesaler on Maejo Road.

Coming from Maejo intersection on Super highway, pass the 2nd Ringroad (Rimping & Mc Donalds) intersection and then after about 500 - 600 meters on your left you will find a building with a big window in the front in which you will see stacks of T-Shirts and Polo's.

It's not too far from that Golf course, anyway, when you hit the turn to Mae Rim,.... you're too far.

Never been inside but my guess (by the look of it all) they're wholesalers or even manufacturers.

For heavy duty embroidery as you explained you will need to buy shirts that are at least 125 grms cotton.

Won't hurt to do at least a drive-by lookie-look.

There is (or was) a place that does embroidery on the inside of the moat.

I can't remember exactly where it is, but it's on Sri Poom Rd between the corner of the moat and Chang Phuak Rd.

It's a narrow shop next to a shop that does stickers and I've seen them do advanced multy color stuff.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice.

I have done some trawling around the city and would like to share my findings, maybe it can give someone else an idea of costs etc.

Please note I made my enquiries based on a quantity of 30. either plain colour V neck Tee and polo style.

The Indoor market;

They tend to sell to Joe Public at around 100-120bt a piece, but when I said I may want around 30, they could sell at 65bt(s) 75bt(m) 85bt(L) 95bt(XL)

To screen print a logo in one colour was 250bt for the lot, and 15bt for extra colour.

Logo embroidered on was generally a head scratcher in the market, they say “we can do” but I feel that a task too far for them.

Shirt quality I thought was ok , but not great.

Specialist shops

Firstly, the quality was way up, the look, the feel, the weight.

For the tee shirts, most were selling in the 100-120bt range for a quantity. But they wanted a minimum order of 50, 60 and even 80. The screen printing was included for one colour, but 5 or 10bt extra per shirt for a second colour

Polo shirts off the shelf were around 250bt for good quality cotton/Polyester and around 195bt for polyester only.; but an order of 50 (C/P) would be about 230bt

Embroidered logos etc generally 30bt each, not many were bothered about the number of colours in the logo.

I have to say, my choice after going to several would be Jipata; maybe one of the most respected places; certainly they cater for thousands of Uni students clothes. The set up is professional and they had no problem with an order of only 30.

Their quality meets my approval and I was quoted 110+30 embroidered logo for a V neck shirt.

But as with most busy and respected places, lead in time is longer, they told me 4 weeks…market 6 days..

On balance I would rather pay 2k more from a trustedplace than risk the market.
