Wrapping up the Thai government’s work on organizing the one year in memory of tsunami events, Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop said he was quite satisfied with the outcome. Mr. Suwat explained that the Thai government was praised by many international organisations as it reflected what and how the government has done for the past year including infrastructure, people’s state of mind and job placement for affected people. He firmly believed that the tourism industry will revive after the event and that means the well being of the Andaman region.

Countering the criticism that parties and entertainment were arranged right after the remembrance event, Mr. Suwat explained that the two parts were separated and that the Andaman festival is organized to add festive and happy moods for the region as it is part of the New Year holidays.
