Trade Out Wordpress Lessons For Copywriting ?

I do photography and write for magazines and online websites (both webcopy and advertising) and it's a shame I don't have my own website up as an online reference and business card promoting my work. Every time I go to start building my own site I get lost in the details and the beginning learning curve with Wordpress.

I know there are alot of designer/programmer types here in town, and would love to trade out some of my writing time and skills helping you with your own promotional projects in exchange for some basic Wordpress lessons. I know tutorials are available online, but I need some actual hands-on walking thru with the construction. And I don't just want something built for me, 'cause I want to be able to feed it myself as new jobs are completed, and older ones become less significant. If you're a design guy or gal, you may be great with construction but flustered with talking up your work succinctly. This could be a win-win situation for us.

I might add that this could lead to a good working relationship besides, as I work with some of the bigger business owners in town. Work comes up for designers all the time. I'm always getting asked if I can recommend someone.

My talent's in writing, but Wordpress and sit management isn't beyond me. I just need that jump-start to get going. I already have a couple sites desperate to be constructed so I can plug in my words and photos. If you're interested in chatting about an exchange and working together, please drop me a pm.

You can set-up a Wordpress website in literally 30 seconds after you've created a hosting account. There is another way to do the same thing (via FTP) which will help you 'learn', but the best solution really is the quickest.

I'm guessing what you are really asking for help with is designing the website, making it easier to display your photos? If so, it's a relatively simple task for someone who knows what they're doing, but as far as teaching you as they go along, I imagine that would take more time than you think.

Source: personal experience.

That being said, I hope you find someone who is looking for writing in return, and if either of you get stuck along the way, I'm happy to help out via PM.

I'd be interested in learning this too ... I set up a WP site quite easily, and did some modifications etc easily enough. But would like to learn more about it, hands on.
