anon210
Look here: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.th/Triton-Single-Cab/STANDARD/Overview A standard single cab would cost 428.000 THB, a CNG version, 493.000 THB (probably the 1 THB/minute, but you need access to a CNG pump which is hard to find in the country, I guess). Furthermore, you can never hope someone will bring you a jerrican of CNG if your tank is empty... Not really made for out of town I would say. Sounds like the single cab would make it for you. They have it also in 4x4: 599.000 THB
uwe_rayong
200km to the Vet does not sound like plenty of CNG pumps around... Isn't the cheapest Mitsubishi with a Benzin Motor, the 2.4G 428,000 THB? You could convert it to LPG, LPG is easier to find then CNG. But you may compare the running cost with a standard Diesel first. A new small Diesel Pickup use something around 7-8 Ltr per 100km (8x30=240 THB). A LPG converted Pickup maybe around 130-150 THB. Or on 10000km Diesel = 24000 THB LPG = 15000 THB you quoted CNG = 10000 THB How many km you drive in a year? If it is big enough I would go with the Nissan NV converted to LPG. Something like this: http://www.taladrod.com/w20/Search/CarDet3.aspx?cib=920672 With LPG it is cheap to run, if no LPG available you switch to benzin. Spare parts for this model are dirt cheap and the car is very easy to repair. 4x4 Pickups are out of your price range and more expensive to run and repair. Remove spare wheel from under rear bed.... mount wheel in rear bed or on back [swing arm]..... Fit 2 LPG tanks under the rear bed [LPG can get everywhere in Thailand].......... Need canopy as rear is full of parts 90% of the time........ Cost on top of normal petrol Triton.... 2x LPG tanks + conversion.......Rear mounting spare-wheel bracket....... Canopy = 90,000 baht.. NOTE: CNG Triton has the tank in the rear bed = 1/3 or bed taken up........ Not sure that Triton make a petrol 4X4 ?
monty
Diesel and cheap ( can convert to CNG) Diesel with CNG don't work, just ask Chevy You don;t get out much. Al most all of the big Diesel truck in Thailand run on CNG After modifications! Diesel engines can be modified to run on cng, but then they cannot run on diesel anymore. The Tata pick up is an example, only runs on cng... Vehicles running on petrol can be used on both cng and petrol. Called dual fuel engines. The Mitsu Triton is an example, the cng model uses a 2.4 liter petrol engine. Sent from my GT-I9001 using Thaivisa Connect App

Tata have the 2.2 Turbo Diesel engine pickup.. or the 2.1 litre, DOHC multi-point injection petrol engine with CNG, that has had the fuel tank for petrol removed and replaced with 3 CNG tanks, thus making it the biggest CNG pickup rear bed space.. They will also fit a 4th tank if you need it in the rear bed.. This petrol version runs on CNG only Of course I can be mistaken and this is a diesel always understood this was a petrol engine
