More often than not , after reading the book i am disappointed by the movie..In this case i watched the movie first.. Afghanistan was my dream journey for a couple of years, unfortunately when it was time to go, the mess had already started ( 1979 )

I have to say the paranoia and fear I experienced , expresed in that movie on a big screen have stayed with me all my life . I have nightmares to this day .
