insertcoins
Are there any other courses in Phuket apart from learning the Thai language or Muay Thai that will set you up with an ED visa? For example, are there any music schools that can do this?
NomadJoe
You can get an ED visa for a great number of things. Massage, cooking, meditation, gemology, "study Thai culture" etc. You can also get one to learn any language, not just Thai. PM me if you want details. I occasionally teach English for a couple of different schools. http://voices.yahoo....dy-2893037.html Not sure on music schools, but it may be possible under the guise of "studying Thai culture". You may want to check the Yamaha School of Music at the top floor of Big C. They don't appear to have an English website (http://www.yamaha.in...ool.network.php) but I did find a small comment here http://phuket.angloi...ic-classes.html which states that they also tech "some English" so perhaps that is how they get you an ED visa. hansgruber
What percentage of ed visa holders actually study and don't use it just as means to stay or avoid visa runs? I'm guessing one in twenty.
SimonGruber
I think for diving also. I just start my dive master course in Phuket. I will apply for education visa in Kuala Lumpur

I don't think that high, but a lot for sure. For Thai learners, immigration or the education ministry do apparently test to see if you speak any Thai after a certain amount of time.
