Triple-Entry Tourist Visa From Uk + Extensions: Easy To Get New Single Entry Immediately Afterwards?

Featured Replies

I am here on a triple-entry tourist visa which, using the 30-day extension facility to the max, I hope to squeeze to just under nine months. This means I will have to leave the country on the current visa in late December this year.

My plans have changed and now, rather than going off to Vietnam in December as previously intended, I plan to stay here in Thailand for another three months until early March 2013, after which time I will head back to the UK.

I've done a little research on the forum and I cannot see advice for my particular predicament, which is this: How simple is it going to be for me to get a new single or double entry tourist visa from a neighbouring country once my present multiple-entry TV (for which there will be evidence of three extensions in my passport) expires in December?

I've heard that Penang, for example, will not even issue a new single entry tourist visa to a passport holder who has just left the country having used a tourist visa with an extension on it.

Your help is gretaly appreciate.

The Royal Thai Embassies in Vientiane,Laos or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will issue , without any problem, a Tourist Visa.

Savannakhet would seem your best option. See also Latest Reports Of Getting A Visa In The Region

Thanks, Maestro. Having read a few of the threads on that link, it does indeed look like Savannakhet is the best option. However, I still cannot see an answer to my specific question, so I'll ask it again with a bit more detail this time....

In particular, I am very disconcerted by the assertions of some TVers that certain local consulates/embassies will not issue tourist visas if a passport holder has extensions on tourist visas in the past – specifically there is the case of Penang from another thread.

I want to get myself signed up into a rental agreement for an apartment in Kata beach here in Phuket. In order to get a good price, I am having to sign an agreement for 6 months, taking me from 7 September – 7 March. I am handing over 22,000 THB in the way of a deposit.

Obviously, if I get refused a visa from a neighbouring country in December it's bye bye deposit. So what chances have I got with – what will be – three extensions on my current tourist visa, which was issued in the UK?

If I have a letter in Thai explaining that I have a tenancy agreement until March and that the plan is to return to the UK immediately afterwards, would that help?

I am not going to sign the contract until I am confident I can stay in the country beyond December this year.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Manc

I think a confirmed plane ticket to your home country will be of more help confirming that you will leave after that

But nobody can say for sure you wil get a double entry tourist visa. Savanakhet will be your best bet.

I'm confident you will get at least a single entry tourist visa. If need be you can always use visa exempt entries, giving you 15 days by land or 30 days if by air.

Only Penang has been reported to not issue a visa if an extension is done.

Both Vientiane and Savannakhet will issue you a single entry with no problem.

Okay, thanks mario and Joe.

That's given me confidence to go ahead with this agreement.
