August 27, 201213 yr I know the Vegemite folks will come out and say the taste is better than our Marmite, but let's assume both are packed with lots vitamins and according to an article today in the Daily Mail it may help beat the MRSA superbug. MRSA - Methicillin-Resistent Staphylococcis Aureus) MRSA poses a major threat in hospitals. Love it or Hate - I'm happy I'm in love with the stuff. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2194310/How-Marmite-help-doctors-defeat-MRSA-superbug.html
August 27, 201213 yr " Marmite is especially rich in B vitamins, including niacin. But to provide the benefits seen in the study, much higher B3 concentrations would be needed than can be obtained from the yeast extract spread." Edited August 27, 201213 yr by endure
August 27, 201213 yr I discovered that eating Marmite stops me from getting mouth ulcers. As an example, recently I was travelling a lot and hadn't had any Marmite for about a month. Mouth ulcer starts and I manage to get hold of some. The mouth ulcer disappeared after 2 days. Before I discovered Marmite's effect on me my mouth ulcers would easily last 10 days or so.

Didn't know that I've never had one, but I have a friend who is one of those "Haters" of Marmite and she uses cream of tartar and eats lots of sauerkraut when she gets them-still takes a week to cure, I'll mention the marmite success you had, thanks.

August 28, 201213 yr Helps health, tastes like s**t - what a great slogan! You either love it or hate it but there was a case not so long ago where a young boy (about 5 or 6 I think) was actually living on Marmite and toast alone - with no ill effects ! Just goes to show what a great product it is.
August 28, 201213 yr Been polishing my shoes with it for ages........hasn't helped my health one iota!

September 5, 201213 yr There is a marmite cook book out there in cyberspace. Very interesting things you can do with it (I assume it could be the same for vegemite).
September 5, 201213 yr Marmite from the UK (very thick and viscous) has a totally different taste to Marmite from Australia (consistency more like jam). Vegimite is yet again totally different from Marmite UK and Marmite Australia. I chucked the Marmite I bought in Thailand (imported from AUS) straight in the bin, yuk, nowt like the good old UK original. Apparently Australian Marmite is actually manufactured in New Zealand. http://www.marmite.co.nz/home-page/faqs#q1 Edited September 5, 201213 yr by TommoPhysicist
