Popular Post petercool
It has been a bit of a musical desert as far as jazz music goes in Pattaya but the JazzPit within PLC Kitchen's Thai style building - towards the top end of Soi 5 - has maintained the tradition and now each Friday from 8pm till 11pm a new guitar, bass and drums trio - "THREE ON FIVE" - is hoping to kick start a revival of jazz enthusiasm here. All are expat residents with a pro background of Jazz, Funk, Latin, Blues etc. around Asia, Australia, Europe or USA and this is non-profit venture for them at this time. Admittedly, it is not the cheapest place to drink but well worth a visit for a change from Pattaya's rock and blues offerings, it is a very classy setting and, only if you wish, there is some excellent Thai cuisine. It should be pointed out that it is not a jam session, although the trio would love to meet other jazz musicians for potential future teaming up. I hope this "heads-up" is allowed on the forum.
seasia
Hi I hope that goes well, as the more variety the better as far as I`m concerned and there appears to be almost no where to go to listen to jazz in Pattaya. Is jazz played later than 11.00 PM there? Any where else they play? Somewhere to go on a Saturday night would be good. Thanks
petercool
At present only the guitarist plays there on other nights. If all goes well, the trio might have a Saturday night session too in the future. The place closes at 11pm and at this time this trio only plays at the JazzPit. Thanks for asking ...

craigt3365
I've been there a few times. It was pretty good, but pricey. No different than the places in Bangkok though...and much cheaper than the places I use to go in New York City!!!! I use to live in Bangkok and do miss the places there. We'll try to get out and see these new players.
