Audio is out of sync on all HD channels ranging from a fraction of a second to more than a second. I have searched the forum and have seen no topics related to this so I must be the only one??

I don't have true cable/satellite or whatever it is, but it is possible that it is your setup.

How are you running your cables and through what equipment?

I had a problem on my Samsung DLP TV and have been delving into the service menus. They have a huge section on audio timings.

Anyway, just a thought. If you have anything other than your decoder box connected that you are running signals through, try bypassing them to see if that clears up the problem.

Of course, it is equally possible that true are out of sync. w00t.gif

I thought I was the only one experiencing this problem.

Last week I was watching a True channel (sorry can't remember which one) and the sync was out by three or four seconds. I was going to post here when the Tv made a sudden crackling or buzzing sound and the sync was adjusted to being out by a fraction of a second.

I am sure the fault lies with True as I only use the decoder connected to my TV.

Yes, it freezes or jumps ahead and then catches up, but then goes out of sync again

Seriously, check your signal strength on the various channels and possibly adjust your dish position. You might be on the edge of reception, or you're receiving rf interference from somewhere.

Is your cable to the LNB to the receiver the right type? Length? Corrosion in the connector at the dish? Staple cut into the cable along the route to inside? Excessive bend?

Just some things to look at.

I have seen 2 different similar things on Sat TV (not HD).

sound lags back.

Turn off and on the receiver and it is OK again. --> Receiver issue

Turn off and on the receiver and no change, they send it with delay.

Kurnell, I have the same problem on my True HD channels with sat tv. Ignore most of these irrelevant replies you received. It only started when they introduced the free HD channels and it's a True problem. They want us to PAY for that?

True with true - after the last upgrade my UBC channel 103 and 108 when watching a game will jump back and repeat a few lines every few minutes - it is something in the transmission. I get something like "he dropped the ball on the 30" "ball on the 30" happens every few minutes like the sync is resetting and I am not using any HD at all.

I have the same problem occasionally. There may be some merit to RAKMAN's post that says it could be weak signal strength, such as a misaligned dish. i say this because I notice mine really goes out of sync and starts "skipping" just before losing a signal in a rain storm. Worth having True come out and have a look.

You are not the only one kurnell. The issue has been raised on quite a few threads by various people. I have exactly the same problem too. I haven't bothered contacting True because quite a few of the people here who have mentioned the problem have gone through all the business of getting an "engineer" to come out and check their equipment and no solution has been found. Assume that means it's a problem with the HD system itself that can't be easily rectified. And yes, it is mighty annoying!

As I mentioned in an earlier thread I use True cable tv and have this problem.

I also have Vinesat through a satellite dish and have noticed that on BBC World I have the same problem. Since then I have asked several friends if they have this problem and they all said yes.

Maybe it's not True but the actual satellite signal. Just a thought.

I guess Thai people are not really worried as they will read subtitles and they are used to dubbing where the mouth movements don't match the sound anyway.

PattayaPete, thanks for your excellent and useful post! It seems to have solved the problem for me, and I will keep and eye on my HD channels. Until when are they supposed to be free? Anybody knows?
