Any fellow Brits out there know why the British Embassy doesn't organise similar consular visits? From the results of the Forum Poll, there are many more UK citizens in Pattaya than any other nationality.

LOL Got to be the funniest quote of the year.

I was at the UK embassy just before Christmas to collect my new passport sitting in the waiting room full of customers, there are just 2 windows for customer service, 12.00 a KFC delivery bike rider comes in with 2 large bags of KFC and passes them to one of the embassy staff, within seconds both windows close and the whole operation comes to a close for 40 minutes.

As for your original question, its for the same reason the UK has no motor industry, or motor cycle industry, We English are bone idle as a nation and always take the path of least resistance, hence why so many live in Thailand... its easy.

(obviously I do not include myself here :o)

You could also add that they're a bunch of arrogant, snooty nosed, power crazed b...ds who wouldn't dream of demeaning themselves by coming down to hob nob with the lower life plebs in Pattaya. :o

"If you want anything - come to Bangkok and try to catch us on a day when we're open!" :D

The UK Embassy closing 40 minutes for lunch seems pretty reasonable to me.

The US Embassy operating hours are....0730 to 1100 and then 1300 to 1400. They are closed from 1100 to 1300 for lunch. :o
