News_Editor Posted January 31, 2013 Share Posted January 31, 2013 Gunman kidnaps child from Alabama school bus, 1 dead < br /> 2013-01-31 11:45:42 GMT+7 (ICT) MIDLAND CITY, ALABAMA (BNO NEWS) -- At least one person was shot dead and a child taken hostage, after a suspected gunman attacked a school bus in Alabama, local authorities said Tuesday. According to the Dale County's Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. local time when a gunman boarded a school bus and took a child hostage, local media reported, unofficially identifying the suspect as Jimmy Lee Dykes, 65. Reports also indicate that he shot the bus driver around four times before taken a 6-year-old child hostage. The child was reported safe but remains with the suspect in a bunker behind his house near Midland City, Alabama.
