JetsetBkk
I've got an old set of Niveous speakers - left, right and bass unit - both both speakers have gone very quiet: http://www.nivs.com....db945e3a4c9572c I'm sure it should be a quick fix, but don't want to be ripped off. I think they only cost about 1,000 baht a few years ago and sounded really good. Any recommendations? Edit: Oops, title should read "PC Speaker" Edited February 2, 2013 by LivinginKata title corrected
Jimi007
Check the fuse. It is most likely inside or the back of the sub woofer. If the fuse is good, then time for some new ones.

fiddlehead
There are 3 speakers there: One sub and 2 top end (smaller ones) Does the sub work (very low end thumping sounds?) The amp is in the sub's body. IF you are getting nothing from any of them, it's probably not worth looking into. I have a set of similar looking speakers that I paid 700 baht for about 5 years ago. Great deal. I never expected them to last this long but they are still sounding great.
Chainsaw
Try spraying inside everything with electrical contact spray. You never know, it could be just a 'sticky' volume control. If that doesn't work dump 'em and get a new set at Supercheap.

JetsetBkk
Sorry, I've been fiddling with my 'notifications' and didn't get one for this thread. You never know, it could be just a 'sticky' volume control. If that doesn't work dump 'em and get a new set at Supercheap. Pretty sure the volume control is OK. downstairs big c, Yes, that's where I went - Amorn, 380 baht to fix. Now OK. Just buy a new set .Only about 1000bht in Tesco. Not worth messing with them That was my backup plan if the repair was more than 500 baht! PS. They sound really good now. JetsetBkk
<snip> PS. They sound really good now. So what was the problem? No idea! But there's a new seal/sticker across the back of the sub-woofer unit for warranty purposes, so I guess they replaced a component on the circuit board in there.
