Not too much of the "beat up" please!

I use a Q6700 (overclocked by 15%) every day and have been doing so for years. MY PC handles all my work and entertainment requirements and with an SSD as my system drive it goes like the clappers.

I wont be changing it any time soon unless the motherboard blows up in which case it will be new MB, new CPU, new video card and new RAM. Sorry.

I know amazon has them. They do not ship to Thailand.

Actually, I checked amazon.co.uk today and they display them, but no one sells them. Click see who sells and nothing shows up.

I have given up buying electronics from them.

Anyways, need to update my aging rig. I am using a duo core e4500. I do not need a newer ivy or sandy bridge rig, just yet.

I always go to a busy computer service/repair business for that stuff. When they upgrade a computer, they have that stuff left around. Sometimes lots of it.

Ebay is where you need to go. That's a good CPU and members here, many of whom are financially challenged, probably aren't going to cough it up.

You can try the used parts shops at Panthip but probably won't find it (lot of low-end stuff) and if you do it will likely be overpriced. Still, it might be worth a try.

I got a q6600 but it is still at home and I don't have plans to go there anytime soon.

I also got a mb with 4gb ram and a celeron lying around, any idea where I could get rid of it against a few baht ?

Interesting...60 million more transistors and the newer 45mm die. How much do u want? I have ram already. My old mb can only use 800mhz speed ram, so upgrading to a higher speed ram will not work.

No charge, just pass it on. Just PM me your address and I will drop it in the mail. I have already upgraded my system and it is no use to me.

The motherboard that I had was a Gigabyte P35-DS3R v2.0. I was running an E4500. I decided to upgrade RAM and CPU but the RAM I bought was flaky so I never really ran the E6600 as I just bought an I3 processor, DDR3 RAM and new motherboard and upgraded everything.

I intend to hand this old thing to wife and son and build a new system within a few months. There is simply no need to throw this stuff away, or even donate it.

Anyways, thanks Livram, for everything.
