hello

anyone know where to buy or order decent quality electronic components

today was the third time in 4 months that i changed the capacitors in my ceiling fan (CBB61 1,5 uF 450 Vac) and I'm getting sick of this low priced made in china stuff i can buy here in mukdahan

any suggestions on why this component keeps failing are also welcome , works fine for about 2 days blows my pack of cigarettes off the table then the fan goes slowly not enough to give any breeze

i can bring it to town for repair but i think they are gonna do the same , just change the capacitor thus that leaves me sweating even more with taking this huge thing off and back on the ceiling

any help appreciated

keep on rocking

The capacitors are for speed control. Maybe your speed (pull chain) switch is dodgy? Or, something not wired properly? If you can't return for replacement, maybe bite the bullet and buy a new one. If you have already replaced the caps and still have problem, pursuing that angle doesn't seem worthwhile to me.

As said , they are for speed control. I have 7 ceiling fans in my house and none of them work on high speed, only medium and low. I've had them 14 years and replaced the "black blocks" numerous time but after a few days there was again no high speed. They swell up when they fail indicating an overcurrent condition. I bought dozens from home pro but finally gave up and now live with medium speed. In hind sight, I should have installed the oscillating fans as the airflow is better and I do not have any problems with the ones that I have

I usually wait until I need a bunch of stuff, and also try to coordinate

with friends and than place a order with DigiKey (www.digikey.com).

Shipping is a killer, so you want to have a large order to justify

the $40-$60 USD shipping charge.

You can also try going to bangkok China Town, there are a bunch

of electronic stores that sell all kinds of components.

Problem is it's hard to tell which parts are quality made and which

ones are China Made.

Here are a few bkk suggestions:

http://www.npe.co.th

ES will also do web orders and deliver withing Thailand.

Good Luck,
